Hailing from an itty bitty town in Louisiana known for meat pies and Steel Magnolias (yes, the movie), I'm Alexis, a quirky, coffee-dependent magazine editor and novice screenwriter based in New York. Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I developed a passion for storytelling at an early age while reporting on the inner workings of elementary school, and an interest in strong female leads from watching the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on repeat. A total outgoing introvert, when I'm not working on a script you can find me in a movie theater, volunteering with my Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority sisters, quoting 90s movies, or dancing in the mirror to Whitney Houston's greatest hits.

Growing up on a healthy diet of television and film, my idea of family bonding can be defined as sitting together around the TV set during dinnertime. From the second yellow Power Ranger, to Tia and Tamera on Sister, Sister to the ladies of Living Single, strong leading ladies have always commanded my attention. And I've proudly followed the lives and careers of these strong female leads whose lessons and light have helped me navigate through my own life journey.

This blog serves as a platform to celebrate all of those leading ladies, their work, and to showcase all the little ways pop-culture is infused into my daily life.

Are you an actress, filmmaker or any other leading lady interested in a feature on Strong Female Lead? Interested in me for freelance writing?
