10 Holiday Movies That Will Never Get Old

The holiday season calls for celebration with fictional families, whose antics are way more entertaining than anything in real life. Ranging from classic and modern, to family friendly and a tad raunchy, here's 10 of my favorite holiday films.

1. The Best Man Holiday

I could watch this over and over again, and frequently do even when it's not Christmastime. A sequel to the '90s classic The Best Man, this sequel reunites a group of estranged college friends for a yuletide celebration they won't forget, complete with a tribute to New Edition I'll never get tired of watching. Or singing along to.

2. This Christmas

While Chris Brown is very problematic in real life, I can't even front: one of the best parts of this film is his singing of "This Christmas." The film follows a tight-knit family all back together again for the first time in years with secrets that threaten to unravel everything.

3. Almost Christmas

New to the holiday movie circuit, this film follows another close family that attempts to get through their first Christmas since the death of their family matriarch. The best parts? Mo'Nique's jokes and the numerous pop-culture references peppered throughout delivered expertly by the film's youth.

4. Friday After Next

This is definitely not for anyone who can't take a lot of cursing, but it's highly recommended by me if you can. Literally prepare to hold your stomach the entire time. A sequel to the '95 classic Friday, in this film a set of cousins are robbed by Santa Clause on Christmas Eve and face a series of hilarious misadventures as they attempt to get their rent money back.

5. The Santa Clause

This is one of those holiday classics that never fails to warm my heart. After a divorced dad accidentally causes Santa Clause to fall off the roof on Christmas Eve, he and his young son decide to finish St. Nick's deliveries. But, doing so invokes "the Santa clause," making him the official new Father Christmas.

6. The Family Stone

Ah! Sarah Jessica Parker in something other than Sex and The City or Hocus Pocus! The movie follows the misadventures of the eccentric Stone family, when the eldest son brings his uptight girlfriend home for the holidays.

7. How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Who didn't love Dr. Suess growing up? I know I did! In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale, the reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for all of the cheery citizens of Whoville. Perfect for anyone not feeling the spirit this season.

8. The Perfect Holiday

What if a mall Santa really did grant wishes? In this film he does! After a little girl notices that her divorced mother feels especially lonely during the holidays, she asks a department-store Santa Claus, to pay her mom a compliment. But instead Santa, who turns out to be a struggling songwriter, completely ends up falling for her, much to the dismay of her other children.

9. The Last Holiday

If this was your last holiday on earth, how would you spend it? That's what one woman thinks about, when she finds out she only has a few weeks left to live. She begins to reflect on what she realizes has been an overly cautious life and subsequently quits her retail job, withdraws her savings, and jets off to Europe for the trip of a lifetime. Key takeaway: Quit existing, start living!

10. A Christmas story

"Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!" Rounding out my list of faves is everyone's favorite Christmas classic. In this beloved holiday movie a young boy spends his time dodging a bully and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a "Red Ryder air rifle," in between encounters with his wacky family.
